The International Conference A Century of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić’s ‘Priče iz davnine’ is the central event in the celebration of the centenary of the first publication of Priče iz davnine (Croatian Tales of Long Ago, 1916) by Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić, the most famous Croatian collection of fairy tales. Scholars and experts from Croatia and abroad are invited to take part in the Conference in a joint effort to critically examine the various aspects of this unique prose collection.
The Conference A Century of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić’s ‘Priče iz davnine’ (Croatian Tales of Long Ago) will focus on the following general topics:
- Literary, historical and cultural aspects of Priče iz davnine
- Literary and theoretical approaches to Priče iz davnine
- Linguistic and stylistic aspects of Priče iz davnine
- Priče iz davnine in a pedagogical and educational context
- Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić’s opus in the context of European and world literature
- Fairy tales: genre, theory, history
Official languages of the Conference are Croatian and English.
